Know About Rohit Bansal and Kunal Bahl
Rohit Bansal and Kunal Bahl are founders of one of India’s popular e-commerce platform, Snapdeal. While Rohit functions as the COO of the company, Kunal functions as the CEO of it.
Kunal Bahl was born on the 1st of January in the year 1984 in New Delhi and did his schooling from the Delhi Public School in R.K. Puram, New Delhi. After finishing his schooling, he applied for a degree in the University of Pennsylvania, where he got accepted.
He graduated from the university from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology, and earned two Bachelor’s degrees; one in Marketing and Operations Strategy and the other in Manufacturing Engineering, from The Wharton School and the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
After this, he completed an executive marketing program from the Kellogg School of Management. While he was studying at the United States, he started a detergent company and also worked at the Walmart Stores to sell his product.
He had also worked with Microsoft for a brief period, before returning to India in the year 2008, due to some visa issues. He is married to Yashna Bahl.
Rohit Bansal hails from Maout, in the North-Indian state of Punjab and did his schooling from the Delhi Public School in New Delhi. After that, he completed his Bachelor’s from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi (IIT-Delhi).
Bansal and Bahl together co-founded Snapdeal on the 4th of February, 2010. The company is based in New Delhi and as per the report of 2014, the company has over 3,00,000 sellers, 800+ varied categories of products, over 30 million products, with a reach of over 6,000 towns and cities in the whole of India.
Some of the prime investors in the company include names like SoftBank Corp, Alibaba Group, FoxConn Technology Group, Ru-Net Holdings, Temasek Holdings, Kalaari Capital, and Ratan Tata, among others. Snapdeal also acquired FreeCharge for $400 million.
